If you’re here because we’ve served together, you’ve already seen this work firsthand. You know what happens when willing people place themselves in God’s hands.

Why I’m returning full-time

For 17 years, Latin American Missions has been the work at the center of my life—most of that time, full-time.

When COVID brought our campaigns to a halt for roughly two and a half years, it also brought real uncertainty about what international mission work would look like afterward. At the same time, families and congregations were facing their own financial pressures.

Rather than aggressively fundraise in that season, I moved to part-time work with LAM and started a small business to supplement my income. The business has succeeded, and I could make considerably more by giving it my full attention.

But the mission work has continued to grow. I have decided that beginning in 2027, I want to give it my full attention again.

The work has become more than campaigns

The week a team spends on the field is only the most visible part of the work.

In Honduras and Peru, we are developing local Christian leadership teams that can carry the work forward year after year. The goal is not simply to conduct another annual campaign. It is to strengthen Christians and congregations that will continue serving long after the North American team leaves.

This is a multi-year effort. It has already produced meaningful results, and there are still many important milestones ahead.

  • Organize
  • Lead
  • Evangelize
  • Follow up
  • Strengthen congregations
  • Continue the work

More time for the work that lasts

Returning full-time is not simply about leading more trips. It means having the time to prepare well, develop people, strengthen the infrastructure behind every campaign, and follow through after the team comes home.

Lead the campaigns well

Prepare teams, raise the needed funds, coordinate the details, and keep evangelism at the center of every effort.

Develop local leaders

Invest consistently in the Christians who are organizing, teaching, following up, and strengthening congregations.

Build what sustains the work

Improve LAM’s website, digital tools, campaign systems, communication, and the infrastructure that helps teams serve effectively.
